All you Need to know aboutSuper smash bros Brawl.
This is Smash!
What is "Super Smash Bros."? It's a brawling, battling, action-packed video game that features a varied roster of characters for four-player simultaneous melees!
When you hit an opponent, his or her damage meter builds up. The number at the bottom is the image meter. The more damage that builds up, the farther an opponent flies each time he or she gets hit! An opponent with higher damage flies farther. Soon, people are flying around like rockets. And when you fly off the screen in any direction. You lose A life! Also, in some modes each time you KO an opponent, you earn points. As an example, you can fight for a mere two minutes in a competition to see who can shoot their opponents off-screen the most.
If you had to call it something, I'd say it's almost like a sport After an enemy sends you flying really far, it seems like all that's left is for you to fall. But you must never give up hope! You've been blasted! Just aim for solid ground! This is when you use your midair jump! Then your Up Special Move to rise up! Whoa. Safe at last. If recovering is a technique, then there must also be techniques to guard against recovery. Fierce aerial battles often rule the match! There's a variety of attacks in Smash Bros., and they all involve some combination of strength and direction. Let me start here by talking about strength.
Standard Attack If you just press the attack button, you'll perform a standard attack. These are generally speedy.
Strong Attack When you tilt the stick in a direction, you'll do a stronger attack in that direction. These attacks usually have longer reach.
Smash Attack Now, if you simultaneously tilt the stick and press the button, you'll do a smash attack. These are powerful!
Since the name for smash attack is derived from the game's name, you can assume they're pretty important. Swiftly tilt the Control Stick left, right, up, or down, and simultaneously attack! When you link the feeling of this control with the result of sending an opponent flying, I think you'll start to see the crux of this game. At first, don't overthink things. It's OK to just tilt the stick and mash some buttons. Ease yourself into it.
By pressing and holding the attack button during a smash attack, you can build up power. Power up and unleash it when the time is right! The actions that really define the personality of each character are special moves! In Brawl, you can do four different moves with just one button and different directional tilts on the Control Stick. These are the four types. Control for each is quite simple.
<Standard special moves> Many of these are basic attacks, like the firing of a weapon. (Normal Special Move: Mach Tornado)
<Side special moves> These are bold attacks that launch in the direction you tilt the stick. (Side Special Move: Drill Rush)
<Up special moves> These are crucial. They¡¯re used to do high jumps and for recovering when you¡¯re falling off the stage. (Up Special Move: Shuttle Loop)
<Down special moves> Many of these do unusual things, like reflect enemy attacks. (Down Special Move: Dimensional Cape) Our model was Meta Knight. To enjoy more of the depth of special moves, try holding the button down longer to charge up attacks, rapidly pressing the button repeatedly, or tilting the Control Stick while doing the moves. You might also want to try them in midair. Surprisingly, there's a variety of hidden uses for many of them. Once you know how to attack, the next thing you have to think about is avoiding enemy attacks. That¡¯s where the shield button comes in handy. You guard against your enemy's attack with your shield!! Shielding against attacks is a top priority. Because if you don't get attacked, you can't get done in! However, the more attacks your shield takes, the smaller it gets. If your shield breaks, you lose consciousness. But more important than guarding is dodging. You just tap the Control Stick in a direction while holding the shield button. Tap the control stick down to do a sidestep dodge! Tap it backward to do a backward-roll dodge! And tap forward to do a forward-roll dodge and get behind your opponent! If you can do these moves, your enemies will have a hard time landing their attacks. And they make you momentarily invincible, so using them proactively is OK. Use these moves as much as you can even before you get used to them. Sometimes things become clearer that way. +Control Pad : Move Press left or right to walk and press up to jump. If you¡¯re in a real hurry, press twice. Press left or right twice to run and press down for a short time to fall through some floors. Press sideways twice to dash! 2 Button : Basic Moves Just press the button for a standard attack. Press it while pressing a direction on the +Control Pad for a strong attack. You can perform smash attacks in one of the following ways:
- 1£º Press the 1 Button and the 2 Button at the same time.
- 2£º Press any direction on the +Control Pad and the 2 Button at the same time.
Just pick whichever one is easiest for you!! Press the 2 Button at the same time you press up, sideways, or down! 1 Button : Special Moves The direction you press will determine what kind of special move you do. You have four special moves depending on the direction you pick: neutral, up, sideways, and down. B Button : Shield This is in a kind of hard-to-press area, but the button for your shield is near your left index finger. To dodge, hold down the B Button and press in a direction. To grab, hold down the B Button and press the 2 Button. To throw an item, hold down the B Button and press the 2 Button. Using the ¨C Button is the same as pressing B Button and 2 Button. Grab away! A Button : Taunt That¡¯s all! Right now, to grab a Smash Ball, you have to beat on it¡ªnot just touch it. Don¡¯t forget! Be the first to pummel it! When you get a Smash Ball, try a standard special move. In other words, just press the button for your special move without a direction. You will then perform your Final Smash. This is the same for all control schemes, so keep that in mind. On October 18 at the E for All (Entertainment For All Expo) in Los Angeles, people will be able to play Brawl. And (perhaps boldly), it will be available for play with the Wii Remote. Is that really going to be OK? No need for concern¡ªI bet you can play it quite smoothly and simply...maybe. How about a little mental training before the time comes when you actually control it? Surely you've learned how to shield to protect yourself. Have you learned that yet? Good. You've learned. Then next up is grabbing. And throwing! Press the attack button while shielding... And grab at your opponent! If you press the attack button while shielding, you'll grab. Give a try next time you're shielding. Block your enemy's attack with your shield! Then just press the attack button to grab your enemy! Tilt the Control Stick in any direction you like to throw! Then pursue with combo attacks! And so on. Grabs are also effective against enemies that are protecting themselves with their own shields. Shield against attacks, then grab. Or dodge. If you can understand this flow, you'll find they add a dimension that changes the simple charging attack. At any rate, get in the habit of shielding when you're in trouble. Then you can think about what comes next. Mastering the chargeable subset of special moves is important. Take the following moves, for example. Link¡¯s Standard Special Move: The Hero¡¯s Bow Pikachu¡¯s Side Special Move: Skull Bash These moves can be charged up by holding down the special-move button, increasing both speed and power. If you press the button down firmly and then release, you¡¯ll unleash the move at full strength! When you first try out a character you aren¡¯t familiar with, this should be the first thing you try. But, there are also some moves that continue charging even after you release the button... Huh??? DK¡¯s Standard Special Move: Giant Punch Samus¡¯s Standard Special Move: Charge Shot ...among others. For these moves, when you press the special-move button again, it unleashes the move at the power level you charged it to. Also, with these moves, you can move around while charged by charging the move to the maximum limit or by pressing the shield button to cancel the charge. Look! Smoke shoots out from his head when he¡¯s reached maximum charge! Do your best to build up the maximum charge, then unleash it at just the right moment! These are superimportant techniques for characters like DK and Samus. Don¡¯t forget them. The Final Smash is a secret skill that can be performed but once¡and only after obtaining an item called the Smash Ball, which is a precious item, indeed. The basic gist of it? I suppose you could say it¡¯s kind of like a powerful and personalized hammer. (Or maybe not¡) You can look forward to experiencing the glowing personality behind each of the many Final Smashes!
